Mansa, 09 June (H.S.): The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday conducted a raid at a house in Kulana village of Budhlada subdivision in Punjab’s Mansa district as part of its probe into alleged links between a local youth and Pakistan-based terrorist Shahzad Bhatti. The NIA team searched the residence of Yadwinder Singh alias Preet. This was the third raid carried out by the central agency at his house in connection with the ongoing investigation.

According to family members, the NIA officials thoroughly searched the house and examined bank account documents and statements. However, no items were seized during the latest operation.

Speaking to the media, Yadwinder Singh said that NIA officials questioned him about certain mobile numbers and contacts. He added that he has been directed to appear before the agency at its Chandigarh office on June 15.

“During the previous raids, the officials took away my mobile phones. This time, they only searched the house and asked me to appear at the NIA office in Chandigarh on Monday,” he said.

Yadwinder Singh, who is a Class X pass-out, is already facing a case under the NDPS Act. The NIA officials did not disclose any details regarding the nature or progress of the investigation.

The agency is continuing its probe into the matter and has not issued any official statement so far.
