New Delhi, 09 June (H.S.): Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Tuesday said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed unprecedented progress over the past 12 years in the fields of welfare schemes, infrastructure development, social security and economic growth.

In a post on the social media platform X, Shah noted that it was on this very day that Narendra Modi took the oath of office as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. He said that during these 12 years of Modi’s leadership, the country had, for the first time, witnessed the simultaneous realization of large-scale welfare measures for the poor and unprecedented development.

Shah stated that Prime Minister Modi has continuously served the nation and its citizens without taking a single day of leave. During this period, the government provided free food grains to 800 million people, inaugurated more than 90 new airports across the country and launched over 140 Vande Bharat trains.

According to the Home Minister, more than 40 million economically weaker families were provided with permanent houses, while approximately 145,000 kilometres of roads and over 3,000 kilometres of modern expressways were constructed.

He further said that nearly 500 million people received health insurance coverage of up to ₹500,000, and more than 100 million families were provided LPG connections under various government welfare initiatives.

Shah asserted that India has today emerged as the world’s fastest-growing major economy. He said such a transformation is possible only when leadership is driven by clear intent, guided by national interest and backed by complete dedication to public service.

The Union Minister emphasised that the achievements of the past 12 years reflect the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, welfare-oriented governance and the overall development of the nation.
