
New Delhi, May 27 (H.S.): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two more individuals during the investigation into the NEET-UG 2026 examination paper leak case. With these latest arrests, the total number of people arrested in connection with the case has risen to 13.
One of the arrested accused, Dr. Manoj Shirure, a resident of Latur, is alleged to have played a key role in assisting three students, including the son of a coaching centre owner. He allegedly helped these students obtain chemistry questions from accused P.V. Kulkarni.
The CBI has also arrested Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, who works as a Physics faculty member at Dr. Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy (APMA), a coaching institute based in Pune. Investigation has revealed that he received the leaked Physics questions from Manisha Havaldar, who had already been arrested earlier in the case.
Sharing this information through an official statement, the CBI said that the investigation is continuing to uncover the entire network and conspiracy behind the paper leak. So far, searches have been conducted at 49 locations across different places in the country. Several laptops and mobile phones have been seized and are currently being analysed.
It is noteworthy that the CBI registered the case on May 12 following a written complaint from the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. Immediately after registering the case, special teams were formed and raids were carried out at multiple locations across the country. Several suspects were detained and questioned during the investigation.
So far, a total of 13 accused have been arrested from Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Nashik, Pune, Latur, and Ahilyanagar in connection with the case.
