Tezpur (Assam), 27 May (HS): The Indian Army’s Gajraj Corps on Wednesday organised a Military-Civil Fusion Seminar titled “Sonitpur SAMVAD” at Tezpur to enhance civil-military cooperation under the vision of “Samoohik Prayas Se Rashtranirman” guided by the principle of “Rashtra Sarvopari.”
The acronym SAMVAD represents the core pillars of the initiative — Samanvay, Aatmanirbharta, Mansik Dridhta, Vishwas aur Vikas — Amritkaal ka Lakshya, Dhyeya Sarvopari. The seminar brought together senior representatives from the state administration and several key institutions to deliberate on collaborative nation-building and regional resilience.
Among those present were the Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, Inspector General of Sashastra Seema Bal, Inspector General of Sonitpur Range, Divisional Forest Officer, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Chairman of the Bar Council and Municipality, representatives from private hospitals in Tezpur, Principal of the Skill Development Centre Mangaldoi and Additional Deputy Commissioners of Tezpur and Missamari.
Addressing the gathering, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Gajraj Corps highlighted JAI — Jointness, Aatmanirbharta and Innovation — as the guiding framework for building a secure, resilient and future-ready India in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The GOC stressed the need for coordinated action, convergence of institutional capabilities and time-bound implementation of achievable goals for national development.
In a major step towards strengthening civil-military cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health and Army hospitals under Gajraj Corps. The collaboration aims to promote holistic mental healthcare through clinical support, professional training, research initiatives and community outreach programmes.
The initiative is being viewed as a significant move towards integrated development, institutional collaboration and collective nation-building while also reinforcing the importance of mental well-being.-----------
