27 May (HS): K Rashi Badalia Kumar of Prayagraj has once again earned
international recognition by being selected for the prestigious jury panel of
the AIB-London Awards 2026. A celebrated radio broadcaster, educator, author
and poet she has been chosen for the seventh consecutive year as a jury member
for the globally renowned awards organized by the Association for International
Broadcasting (AIB), London, UK.
The
AIB Awards honour excellence in journalism, television, radio and digital media
production from across the world. This year, a distinguished panel of 59 jury
members representing 19 countries across every continent except Antarctica has
been constituted.
Expressing
her gratitude, Rashi said it is both an honour and a proud moment to represent
India on such a prestigious global platform. She added that international
recognition of one’s work in the media industry is deeply encouraging and
inspiring.
Rashi
began her radio journey with AIl India Radio Lucknow in 1997 and created
history as the first voice of Uttar Pradesh’s the very first FM radio, AIR FM
Rainbow on August 20, 2000. Honoured with the Voice of UP award,
Rashi received the prestigious Rani Laxmi Bai Award in 2016 from then Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, along with a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.
Currently
associated with the Institute of Professional Studies, Allahabad University,
she serves as a faculty member in Radio Journalism and Professional Practices at
Centre of Media Studies and the Centre of Food Technology. Earlier, Rashi has
also been the Programming Director for two corporate radio channels, 93.5 S FM
(now RED FM) and 92.7 BIG FM in Prayagraj.
Apart
from broadcasting, Rashi has made significant contributions to literature and
social awareness. She has authored seven books spanning poetry, fiction,
non-fiction and inspirational writings,
including: A Gift - Your self-help companion to life at crossroads, From My
Attic, Pandora, Two Zero One, Revised 2023 edition of A Gift, Myriad Blooms and
her April 2026 release, Elysian - A Bridge Beyond Life. Her literary works
continue to receive appreciation from readers across the globe.
A
dedicated citizen journalist and social activist since 2016, Rashi has produced
over 1,300 video and audio stories on social, educational, cultural and
humanitarian issues through her YouTube platform “K-Rashi Badalia Kumar,” which
has garnered over 2.5 million views.
The
AIB Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in London on November 20, 2026.
