Auraiya,
07 Aug (HS): An old woman and two minor girls died after being buried under the
debris of a kutcha house that collapsed late night in Jaitapur village of the
Sadar Kotwali area of Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh. This heart-wrenching
incident occurred around 11 pm on Wednesday night, when everyone was getting
ready to sleep. The deceased have been identified as Ramvati (62 years), Muskan
(12 years) and Ishani (9 years). According to the family members, the three
were watching television in a room of the house at night, when suddenly the
dilapidated roof collapsed. Hearing the sound of the falling roof, people from
the vicinity reached the spot and began efforts to remove the debris.
After
about an hour of struggle, all three were pulled out and rushed to the district
hospital (50 beds), where doctors declared them dead. On receiving the
information, police and administrative officials reached the spot. Kotwali
in-charge Rajkumar Singh said that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
The administration is investigating the incident and the victim's family has
been assured of all possible help.
Wave
of grief among villagers: After the accident, a wave of grief has spread in the
entire village. The condition of the deceased family is already said to be very
pathetic. The villagers have demanded financial help from the administration.
