Guwahati (Assam), 07 August (HS): In a joint operation, police teams from Vashistha and Jorabat outpost successfully arrested two notorious thieves from the 15 Mile area between Jorabat and Berhampur.

According to officials, the arrested individuals have been identified as Nirmal Deka and Fakrul Islam. Acting on a tip-off, the police first apprehended Nirmal Deka from the 12 Mile locality. During interrogation, Deka revealed crucial information that led to the arrest of Fakrul Islam, the owner of FB Mobile Store in the 15 Mile area.

Fakrul Islam had reportedly been running his mobile store by purchasing and selling stolen mobile phones and electronic items for an extended period. During the raid, several stolen mobile phones of various brands and a laptop were recovered from the shop.

Police confirmed that the recovered items were stolen by Nirmal Deka and sold through Fakrul's store. An FIR has been registered in the case, and further interrogation of the accused is underway.
