Dhubri (Assam), 07 August (HS): A terrible road accident occurred on National Highway 17 near Dhubri, leaving six people critically injured, including five school students.
The incident took place around 8:30 AM when a Bolero vehicle (Reg. No. AS-17-C-5156), carrying students from Beguri to Agomoni High School, hit a goat and overturned. All five students and the driver sustained serious injuries, police informed on Thursday.
Two of the critically injured students and the auto-rickshaw driver were immediately referred to Dhubri Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, public outrage grew at the Agomoni Community Health Center over the unavailability of a stretcher. The school authorities and local residents have urged health officials to ensure basic emergency equipment like stretchers are made available without delay.
