New Delhi, August 7(HS): The domestic stock market is experiencing pressure in early trading today, starting weakly. Buyers attempted to support the Sensex and Nifty indices, but heavy selling pressure maintained their red status amidst fluctuations.
By 10 AM, the Sensex was down 0.38 percent, and the Nifty declined by 0.37 percent. Major stocks like Hero MotoCorp, Trent Limited, Tech Mahindra, ITC, and Titan Company showed gains of 1.94 to 0.27 percent, while Kotak Mahindra, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Hindustan Unilever, and Reliance Industries faced declines of 1.36 to 0.58 percent. Trading was active in 2,405 stocks, with 965 in the green and 1,440 in the red.
In the Sensex, 7 shares were positive, and 23 were negative; in the Nifty, 15 were positive, and 35 negative. The BSE's Sensex opened at 80,262.98, down by 281.01 points, rising momentarily to 80,421.84 but ultimately declining to 80,237.25, down 306.74 points.
The NSE's Nifty began at 24,464.20, down 110 points, fluctuating to 24,542.90 before settling at 24,483.10, down by 91.10 points. On Wednesday, the Sensex closed at 80,543.99, down 166.26 points, and the Nifty at 24,574.20, down 75.35 points.
