New Delhi, August 7 (H.S.): Positive signals are evident in the global markets. The American markets closed with gains, with Dow Jones futures trending upward. The S&P 500 index rose by 0.73 percent to 6,345.06 points, while the Nasdaq gained 252.87 points or 1.21 percent, closing at 21,169.42 points. Dow Jones futures are up 76.72 points or 0.17 percent at 44,269.84 points.

European markets also showed a bullish trend, with the FTSE index up 0.24 percent at 9,164.31 points, the CAC index rising 0.18 percent to 7,635.03 points, and the DAX gaining 0.33 percent to 23,924.36 points.

The Asian markets are generally strong, with 8 out of 9 indices in the green. The GIFT Nifty is the only exception, down 61.50 points or 0.25 percent at 24,568.50 points. The Nikkei index surged by 283.14 points or 0.69 percent to 41,078 points, while the Straits Times index rose 0.76 percent to 4,259.75 points. The Taiwan Weighted index increased by 541.07 points or 2.31 percent, and other indices also saw gains, highlighting overall positive momentum in the markets.
