Jammu, 7 August (H.S.): Hitting out at National Conference (NC) Government and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for writing letters to Parliament members and leaders of various states to raise the issue of restoration of Statehood to J&K in Parliament and in their respective states, BJP president, Sat Sharma accused CM and his Government of its total failure in resolving people’s problems during last nine months of its Government.

Talking to reporters at the side lights of a party programme here today, Sat Sharma said. “We all know that in last nine months after the NC Government came to power in the UT did nothing except transfers and elevation of officers,. All departments are with the political Government headed by Omar Abdullah except a small Department of Home and by writing letters to MPs (Omar) is trying to hoodwink the people of J&K, ’’ he added.

He said, “Instead of trying what work Government should do and what should be accorded priority, this Government has done nothing during last nine months in office,. But how long it will hoodwink people, they know everything and can’t be misled any more now’’, BJP J&K president added.

Sat Sharma, while making a scathing attack on NC Government said it took no sincere steps during last nine months as how to further improve the situation in J&K but it is only trying to mislead the people on the name of Statehood.

He said, “Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has given a word that at the appropriate time the Statehood will be restored to J&K and PM is true to his word so we should trust him’’.

In response to a question on abrogation of Article 370, Sat Sharma said there has been a sea change in J&K since then. The children today take books and lap tops in their school bags which were earlier used for carrying stones. The stone pelting is now negligible in Kashmir, he added.

He said those parties who had their personnel benefits because of Article 370 are making the noise otherwise J&K is treading on the path of progress and prosperity fast since then. The last five years since the controversial Article 370 has been annulled can be written as golden era of J&K, he added.

Lambasting Congress he said it is the party created by Bruisers and it still runs on that ideology “divide and rule’’. In last five years how much development work was done in the UT is evident. Kashmir was linked to train only after controversial Article 370 was removed. In last 70 years it did not happen, he added.

Sat Sharma said J&K got two AIIMS, IIT, IIM, ring roads and flyovers in last five years.

Earlier Sat Sharma greeted Neha Mahajan as new president of JK BJP Mahila Morcha along with other party leaders including vice president, Priya Sethi, general secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan, MLAs Yudhvir Sethi, Vikram Randhawa and Shagun Parihar, national secretary BJP Mahila Morcha ,Rekha Kumari, BJP spokesperson Rajni Sethi and other senior leaders.
