Holy mace reaches Chandanwari


Srinagar, 7 August (H.S.): The Chhari Mubarak (holy mace) of Shri Amarnath Ji which had a two night halt at Pahalgam after reaching there from its abode Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar on August 4 today left for next haltage camp Chandanwari on way to Himalayan cave situated at a height of 3880 meters in South Kashmir district of Anantnag.

Earlier Puja Archana was performed at Pahalgam in a traditional way by Mahant Deependra Giri Ji sole custodian of holy mace and Sadhus. As the holy mace left Pahalgam `Bum Bum Bhole’ rent the air. It reached Chandanwari in the afternoon.

Chhari Mubarak will leave for Sheshnag tomorrow morning from Chandanwari. After a night halt at Sheshnag it will leave for Panchtarni the last halting camp on way to cave shrine on August 8. From Panchtarnai holy mace will leave for cave shrine in the wee hours of August 9—the day coinciding with Shravan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan festivals. After performing day long puja and other religious rituals at cave shrine, the holy mace will return to Panchtarni in the evening on way to Pahalgam where from it will leave for its abode Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar next day. With this the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra of 2025 will culminate.
