Hamirpur,
07 Aug (HS): The police have taken swift action within twelve hours in the case
of kidnapping a girl and crossing all limits of brutality in Rath Kotwali area
of Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Today, on Thursday, the police have
crippled the accused by shooting him in an encounter. Illegal arms and
cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the accused. Meanwhile,
the girl injured in the incident is being treated in a government hospital.
In
a village in Rath Kotwali area of Hamirpur district, a 40-year-old man from the
neighbourhood kidnapped an 8-year-old girl on the pretext of feeding her snacks
and took her to his house where she was brutally raped. Seeing the girl soaked
in blood, there was a stir in the entire village.
The family took the girl to
the Kotwali where after taking the complaint; the police immediately registered
a case against the culprit under serious sections. The girl injured in the
brutality incident was taken to the government hospital for medical
examination. After the incident, the accused also fled from the village. SP Dr.
Diksha Sharma formed police teams to arrest the culprit who committed the heinous
crime. Eight police personnel under the leadership of Inspector-in-charge of
Rath Kotwali, Ram Asare Saroj, started searching for the accused. CO Rajiv
Pratap Singh said on Thursday that a search operation was conducted throughout
the night to search for the accused Brijnandan (40), son of Parmanand.
Finally,
he was surrounded in the early hours of Thursday on Shyawari Road near
Kanshiram Colony of Rath town. Within twelve hours of the incident, the person
who brutalized the child was crippled by a bullet fired by the police. It was
revealed that an illegal weapon, cartridges and shells have been recovered from
the possession of the accused.
