Karbi Anglong (Assam), 07 August (HS): In a significant breakthrough, Bokajan Police arrested four robbers from Khattackti’s Doodu Colony in Karbi Anglong district. The arrest was made during an operation conducted based on a tip-off, police said on Thursday.
During the raid, police recovered several stolen items including a laptop, a keypad mobile phone, two smartphones, three bronze bowls, six bronze lamps and various tools used in theft.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Surabha Ali, Sahan Ali, Asadul Islam, and Rasidul Islam — all hailing from Morigaon district.
According to police sources, the accused used to pose as scrap buyers to gain access to homes. They would target unattended houses, carry out the thefts, and flee the scene. All four are currently undergoing intensive interrogation.
