Bhubaneswar, August 7: On the occasion of National Handloom Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan extended heartfelt greetings to weavers and artisans across the country, acknowledging their significant role in preserving and promoting India’s rich handloom heritage.

Taking to social media, CM Mohan Majhi expressed his wishes, stating,

Heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the weaver brothers and sisters on the occasion of National Handloom Day.

He expressed deep appreciation for the weavers who, through their handloom craftsmanship, have showcased Odisha’s art, culture, and traditions on the global stage. I extend my respect and congratulations to the weavers for their invaluable role, he added.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also joined in the celebrations, writing:

“National Handloom Day greetings! India is home to diverse handloom traditions. From Sambalpuri to Ikat, Odisha’s handlooms are a treasure trove of traditions and craftsmanship.”

He saluted the weavers, artisans, and craftspeople who breathe life into every thread, calling on citizens to wear handlooms with pride and support the community that sustains this heritage.
