07 Aug (HS): There was an encounter between the police and the criminals in
Premnagar police station area on Thursday morning. During the firing, bullets
were fired from both sides. In retaliation, the police shot and caught both the
criminals. The police recovered the looted chain, illegal pistols, live and
empty cartridges, cash and stolen bike from the injured criminals.
A
reward of Rs 25,000 each was declared on both the criminals. According to the
police, these criminals have committed many crimes. The incident happened when
the police team of Premnagar police station was going towards Kuddeshiya
bridge. Then near Dharm Kanta, the police saw two suspicious youths riding a
bike. When the police signaled them to stop, they started firing. In response,
the police also fired. Both the criminals were shot in the leg and they fell
down.
The
injured have been identified as Salman son of Jamshed Ahmed resident of Loco
Colony, Nai Basti, Thana Civil Lines, Aligarh and Islam Qadir son of Arif Khan
resident of Banakhana, Thana Premnagar, Bareilly. Both have been admitted to
the hospital for treatment. Police said that many robbery incidents are
expected to be revealed during their iuterrogation.
During interrogation, both
have confessed to being involved in many robbery incidents. Police is also
investigating their criminal history. The police recovered the following: Two
illegal pistols (315 bore), four live and two empty cartridges, a yellow metal
chain, Rs 45 thousand in cash and Stolen Splendor bike.
