Dehradun, July 19 (H.S.): Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various works of the Uttarakhand government worth 1271 crore rupees in Rudrapur at the ‘Uttarakhand Investment Summit - 2025’ held in Rudrapur on Saturday. He emphasized that India's vision of development by 2047 is dependent on the growth of smaller and eastern states. He mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to advancing these regions and predicted that India would become the world's third-largest economic power by 2027.

Speaking at the Uttarakhand Investment Festival 2025 in Rudrapur, Shah expressed his rejuvenation upon visiting Uttarakhand, crediting the blessings of local deities and saints for his energy. He highlighted the cultural significance of the region and its vital resources, noting that Uttarakhand has provided over 81,000 jobs through an investment of one lakh crore despite its challenging geography, under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s leadership.

Shah commended the government's efforts to balance industrial growth with environmental sustainability and its transparent policies that facilitate development. He criticized the Congress party for its historical mistreatment of activists during Uttarakhand's struggle for statehood while acknowledging former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's role in its creation.

The Home Minister also inaugurated five schemes and laid the foundation for thirteen more, reinforcing the government's commitment to elevate Uttarakhand's developmental prospects.
