Nagon (Assam), 19 July (HS): On Friday night, Kachuwa police conducted a special operation and arrested two drug smugglers - Abdul Hasan and Asadul Islam - with narcotics from Barpani tea garden area on Friday night.

The police have seized a bike numbered AS-02-V-6588 and another bike without number plate from the accused. Also, a total of 2.39 grams of heroin kept in 21 containers have also been recovered.

According to the police sources, both these accused were secretly smuggling drugs in various parts of Kachuwa area for a long time and were involved in illegal drug trade. Through this action, the police have succeeded in breaking an important link of the drug network.

At present, the police is interrogating the accused and investigation is going on to trace the entire network.
