Mumbai, 19 July (HS): A tanker filled with chemicals
caught fire near Panhale-Malwadi in Ratnagiri district on the Mumbai-Goa
Highway. The incident occurred on Saturday morning. The firefighters brought
the fire under control. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the tanker turned to
ashes in the fire.
According to the police, the tanker caught fire
while moving towards Goa. The fire soon turned into a blaze, spreading a thick
cloud of smoke. The villagers stopped the traffic on the road as a precautionary
measure. Fire tenders under the Rajapur municipality and police personnel
rushed to the site.
An investigation into the cause of the fire was
initiated by the police.
