Reasi, 19 July (H.S.): Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma today chaired the District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting here to review the implementation and progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) and ongoing development works in the district.
The meeting was attended by DDC Chairperson Saraf Singh Nag; MLA Reasi Kuldeep Raj Dubey; MLA Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Baldev Raj Sharma; Vice Chairperson DDC Sajra Qadir; Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik; SSP Paramvir Singh; ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal and other district and sectoral officers from the development departments.
At the outset, Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik, who also serves as the Member Secretary of DISHA, gave a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation highlighting the physical and financial progress made under flagship schemes and major developmental initiatives across the district.
MP Jugal Kishore reviewed the progress of key infrastructure projects, including the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, BMG Road, RAM Road and other centrally sponsored initiatives. He directed officials to complete the targets within the stipulated time frame to ensure timely delivery of services to the beneficiaries.
He emphasised the need to fast-track the execution of all projects and ensure proper utilisation of allocated finances. He directed officials to take prompt action on all suggestions discussed during the meeting and to address the issues raised effectively. He advocated for a collaborative interdepartmental approach to ensure the timely completion of development projects.
He further instructed officials to prioritise resolving the issues raised by the DDC Chairperson, MLAs, and other members during the meeting. He underscored the importance of collective field visits by officials and public representatives to enhance service delivery.
The MP laid special emphasis on schemes such as PM SHRI, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, integrated watershed and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, with instructions to fast-track their implementation while maintaining high quality standards.
He further emphasised that with the recent visit of the Prime Minister and the inauguration of the Vande Bharat train connecting the Kashmir Valley, this region is now poised for rapid growth and development. This landmark connectivity is expected to boost tourism, create new economic opportunities, and significantly improve access to the region.
