Delhi, 19 July (H.S.): The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, conducted a workshop on Industry 4.0 in New Delhi on Friday, gathering experts, policymakers, and leaders from Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) to discuss the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies across various sectors, including Energy, Power, and Telecom. K. Moses Chalai, Secretary of DPE, emphasized the importance of a “Whole-of-CPSEs” approach for integrating technologies like AI, IoT, and 3D Printing into operations, noting that Industry 4.0 adoption is crucial for enhancing global competitiveness.
Expert presentations included A. Anand discussing Digital Design and 3D Printing, Dr. Prabhjot Singh Sugga on Digital Twin platforms for infrastructure management, and Vidushi Chaturvedi on AI and Machine Learning for predictive analytics. CPSEs like Powergrid and BSNL shared successful pilot projects in AI-driven maintenance and digital simulation.
The workshop included participation from CMDs and Directors of leading CPSEs such as NTPC and IRCTC, engaging in discussions on strategic roadmaps and capacity building for Industry 4.0 adoption across sectors like Oil & Gas and Railways. The DPE underscored its commitment to supporting CPSEs in achieving operational excellence and sustainable development through Industry 4.0.
This initiative is part of a series of workshops planned in different regions, expected to conclude by August 2025, reinforcing collective efforts and strategic implementation within the CPSE ecosystem towards realizing the vision of integrating Industry 4.0 technologies.
