Doda, 19 July (H.S.): Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, today visited Doda town to review the overall security scenario ahead of upcoming events and festivals in the region.
A statement said the visit was part of a broader effort to recalibrate field-level preparedness in the mountainous districts of the DKR Range, especially in light of evolving threat perceptions.
Chairing a meeting in Bhaderwah, which was attended by senior officials from civil administration, police, Army, and CAPFs, including DIG DKR Range, SSP Doda, SSP Kishtwar, and senior Army and CRPF officers, the statement said the DGP stressed on strengthening multi-agency coordination, improving intelligence flow, and increasing area domination to prevent any security threats in the sensitive Chenab Valley region.
During his interaction with field officers, the DGP took a detailed review of deployment patterns and area-specific threats, especially in higher reaches and vulnerable pockets.
He laid emphasis on enhancing surveillance through high-altitude patrols, layered security checkpoints, and night domination exercises to foil any terror designs.
The top cop appreciated the efforts of the local police in maintaining law and order despite the tough terrain and recent provocations by terror elements.
He directed officers to remain vigilant, increase community outreach, and maintain a visible presence in urban and rural areas to reassure the public.
The DGP also reviewed the preparedness of forces in terms of logistics, mobility, and emergency response, stressing the need to stay ready for any situation during the upcoming festivals and public gatherings.
