19 July (HS): A case of rape of a four-year-old girl by a school van driver has
come to light in Indiranagar police station area. The police registered a case
on the complaint of the victim's family and arrested the accused. A case has
also been registered against the school manager.
Deputy
Commissioner of Police (East) Shashank Singh said on Thursday, the victim's
family filed a complaint in Indiranagar police station. The victim said that
her four-year-old daughter studies in a school located in Sector-10. A school
van is used to pick her up and drop her. The woman said that recently the van
driver Mohammad Arif, a resident of Lavkush Nagar, had misbehaved with her
daughter. When she came home, the daughter told her about his misdeeds. When
she approached the school manager Sandeep Kumar with a complaint, he did not
take any action on it. Meanwhile, the driver threatened the family. After this,
the victim's family filed a complaint against the accused driver in the police
station on July 17. The police took cognizance of the case and arrested the
accused Mohammad Arif on the night of July 18. The DCP said that on the
complaint of the victim's family, a case has been registered against the
accused under serious sections and he has been sent to jail. At the same time,
a case has been registered against the school manager for negligence.
