New Delhi, July 19 (H.S.): BJP has criticized Rahul Gandhi for his social media post regarding the ED's chargesheet against Robert Vadra, questioning the nature of his comments as personal or as the Leader of the Opposition.
My brother-in-law has been hounded by this government for the last ten years. This latest chargesheet is a continuation of that witch hunt. I stand with Robert, Priyanka and their children as they face yet another onslaught of malicious, politically motivated slander and harassment.I know that they are all brave enough to withstand any kind of persecution and they will continue to do so with dignity. The truth will eventually prevail, said Rahul Gandhi on X Post yesterday.
Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi noted Rahul's reference to Vadra as 'my brother-in-law,' suggesting a personal interest in the ongoing legal matters rather than a political stance. He accused Rahul of protecting Vadra’s legacy linked to corruption, paralleling Priyanka Gandhi’s defense of another Congress figure amid corruption allegations. The BJP posits that this familial unity is aimed at concealing wrongdoing.
Regarding the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Trivedi pointed out visible divisions within the opposition's INDIA alliance, particularly with the Aam Aadmi Party's announced departure, while expressing hope for constructive parliamentary engagement.
