- Former NDFB rebels thanked the Chief Minister after release

Kokrajhar (Assam), 19 July (HS): A total of 20 former National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) rebels accused in cases investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) were released from the Kokrajhar district jail after getting bail.

After being released from jail, all the ex-NDFB rebels thanked Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

It is known that after investigation by the NIA, these cases were transferred to the jurisdiction of the state government and brought before the District Court, from where they got bail.

Former NDFB leader N. Nasinrang along with other former NDFB leaders and cadres warmly welcomed all the released persons in the jail premises.

It is noteworthy that all the 20 cadres were in jail for more than 10 years under NIA cases, some of whom were in custody for more than a decade.
