Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that the under-construction Shahid Smarak is not merely a structure but a living tribute to the martyrs of the historic Assam Movement. Sharing an image of the ongoing construction, the Chief Minister described it as a monument built to uphold the honour of Aai Asomi and to eternally remember the supreme sacrifice of the brave sons and daughters of Assam.

He said the memorial would serve as a permanent home for more than 850 martyrs who laid down their lives during the movement, adding that the state government is committed to preserving their legacy for future generations.---------
