
Gorakhpur,
9 Dec (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to attend an event in
memory of the late General Bipin Rawat, India's first Chief of Defence Staff,
unveil his statue and an auditorium at Sainik School; inaugurate IIT building
in Gorakhpur today. To
celebrate his legacy, the Uttar Pradesh Sainik School in Gorakhpur is
conducting a commemoration ceremony in which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
will open the newly built General Bipin Rawat Auditorium and unveil a statue in
his honour.
The
celebration, hosted by the GBR Memorial Foundation of India, will include
students, soldiers, and eminent visitors.
Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, Director General of Assam Rifles, and former Air
Force Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria (Retd) will be among those in
attendance. General Rawat's daughters, Kritika and Tarini, will also be there
to honour their father's enduring legacy.

Bipin Rawat was an outstanding soldier who served in the Indian Army for 43
years and was instrumental in formulating the country's military strategy. The
ceremony honors his bravery and serves as a source of inspiration for young
people. The Sainik School Gorakhpur is a new institution that focuses on
intellectual, physical, and mental growth while preparing kids for defense
services through the NDA. The school features sophisticated facilities,
including an auditorium dedicated after General Bipin Rawat and a shooting
range where cadets have won national gold.
