7 Dec (HS): Two youngsters were murdered after a gun went off during

pre-wedding celebrations in a hamlet here, authorities reported on Sunday. The

shooting occurred Saturday night in Umai Asadnagar village in Etah district,

according to officials. According to authorities, the celebrations were

underway, with music playing and people dancing, when bullets were fired. Suhail,

Asuddin's 12-year-old son, died on the scene, while Munna Khan's 17-year-old

son, Shahkhad, was gravely injured.

Family

members transported both boys to Aliganj's community health center, where physicians

confirmed Suhail dead. According to authorities, Shahkhad died as a result of

his injuries after being sent to a higher medical center for additional treatment.

Shwetambh Pandey, the Additional Superintendent of Police, paid a visit to the

location and performed an inspection.

Initial

results indicate that the event may have been caused by a celebratory

gunfire. According to the ASP, the exact

cause and people responsible will not be determined until the inquiry is

completed. He further stated that those present at the incident are being

questioned. Officials

reported that police had taken charge of the remains and transferred them for

post-mortem examination.
