CM Stalin Launches Projects, Defends Governance at Madurai Conclave

Chennai, 7 December (H.S.) : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin highlighted the state's significant economic progress at the Tamil Nadu Rising Investors' Conclave 2025 in Madurai. He reported confirmed investments of ₹11,83,000 crore and the creation of employment opportunities for 34 lakh people since his government took office.

During the event, the CM inaugurated 63 completed projects costing ₹2,630.88 crore and laid the foundation stone for seven new projects worth ₹17.17 crore. He also distributed welfare assistance and house-site pattas to 1,00,211 beneficiaries.

Stalin used the platform to defend his administration and criticize the opposition. He dismissed controversies, specifically the recent Thiruparankundram Karthigai Deepam row, alleging that certain political groups were intentionally creating unnecessary issues.

He maintained that the rituals were carried out according to tradition by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and accused opponents of using religion for cheap, destructive politics rather than focusing on development.

He also criticized the Central government for perceived neglect, citing the lack of a promised medical institution in Madurai and the denial of a Metro Rail project while approving them for BJP-ruled cities.

He concluded by asserting his government's focus is solely on development politics, contrasting it with the unhealthy politics of the opposition.
