
Kolkata, 02 November (H.S.). Tension prevailed at the Jhargram Medical College and Hospital on Saturday night after a 17-year-old girl allegedly died due to medical negligence, triggering strong protests from her family members.
The deceased, identified as Bharti Patan, a resident of Motabandh village in Chakulia, Jharkhand, was admitted to the medical college on Friday. Her family alleged that she did not receive proper treatment after admission, which ultimately led to her death.
Anguished relatives staged a demonstration inside the hospital premises, accusing the doctors of gross negligence in handling her case.
Police personnel from Jhargram police station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
