Nov (HS): There was panic on Sunday morning when information about a terrorist
and a bomb was received in the Vikramshila Express train going from Bhagalpur
to Anand Vihar. The train was checked at Aligarh railway station. Due to this
the train remained standing at the station for about 42 minutes. However, no
terrorist, bomb or any suspicious object was found during the checking. After
finding everything normal, the train was sent to its destination. According to
RPF Assistant Commissioner Gulzar Singh, information about the presence of a
terrorist and a bomb was received from the Railway Control Room at 05:20 in the
morning in train number 12367 Vikramshila Express going from Bhagalpur to Anand
Vihar.
Following
this, the nonstop Vikramshila Express was stopped at platform number 5 of
Aligarh Junction railway station at 5:58 am. The train was jointly checked by
RPF's Hathras post in-charge DP Singh, SI Dheeraj Chaudhary, GRP in-charge
Inspector Sandeep Tomar, the dog squad, and the bomb disposal squad. However,
no suspicious persons or explosives were found during the check.
After
approximately 42 minutes of checking, the train departed for Anand Vihar.
According to RPF Assistant Commissioner Gulzar Singh, special vigilance is
being maintained at the station in view of weddings and festivals. RPF and GRP
personnel are conducting frequent checks on trains and platforms, keeping a
close watch on suspicious persons.
