HUNTINGDON, UK, 2 November (H.S.): Two men were arrested on Saturday, after multiple people were stabbed on a London North Eastern Railway (LNER) train in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, prompting a massive emergency services response.British Transport Police were called to Huntingdon station at approximately 7:39 p.m. GMT following reports of the attack.

Armed officers were among the more than 30 police personnel who responded to the scene, taking two male suspects into custody.The East of England Ambulance Service confirmed it treated multiple patients at the scene before transporting them to the hospital. The exact number of victims and the severity of their injuries have not yet been officially released.

Critical care teams, including air ambulances, were also dispatched.The incident caused significant disruption to the rail network, with all lines between Stevenage and Peterborough closed for several hours. LNER warned of major delays and revisions expected to last until the end of the day.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the incident appalling and deeply concerning, extending his thoughts to those affected and thanking the emergency services. Local political figures, including Huntingdon MP Ben Obese-Jecty and Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Paul Bristow, also expressed their shock and concern.
