Kolkata, Apr 11 (HS): Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, a renowned educational institution to acquire advanced knowledge and undertake research programmes in West Bengal, has launched its new vocational courses to expand the career options for students. University sources told Hindusthan Samachar here today that the new vocational courses, approved by UGC, would open up scope for different bachelor degrees in large sectors including those in Travel and Tourism, Medical Lab Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Banking-Financial Services and Insurance, Hardware Networking, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Interior Design, Automotive Manufacturing Technology, Retail Management, Theatre Studies, Fashion Designing, Catering Technology and Hotel Management among some others. Eligibility criteria for admission to these subjects are 10 plus 2 or equivalent, the sources said adding that there were also provisions for exit from the course at the end of completion of first and second year course of their studies with diploma and advanced diploma respectively.
