Mamata blames Congress for joining hands with RSS in Murshidabad
Chopra/ Karandighi(North Dinajpur)/Kolkata,Apr.10 (HS): Changing her usual stand of Modi bashing only, West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee today charged the Congress with joining hands with the Rastriya Sayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) to win both the Jangipur and Baharampore Lok Sabha seats in Murshidabad disitrict. Addressing her first election rally at Chopra in this North Bengal district in support of Trinamool Congress Candidates for Darjeeling, Raigunj and Balurghat Lok Sabha seats this afternoon, the Chief minister deviating from her usual tirade and spitting venom against the Prime minister and BJP, charged Congress and its candidates - Avijit Mukherjee, the son of former President Pranab Mukherjee from Jangipur and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the former West Bengal Pradesh Congress President, from Baharampore with coming to a tacit understanding with RSS to win both the seats defeating TMC candidates. Urging the voters not to fall prey to the Congress-RSS plot and vote in large number for TMC candidates not only in these two seats but in all the 42 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal, the Chief minister claimed that it was only the TMC which had been protesting and making all out attacks against the alleged misdeeds of the centre during the past five years. However, her claim was rubbished by Adhir Chowdhury and asked why the chief minister did not mention about her past close relationship with BJP and be a member of the first NDA government, while Mukherjje refused to make any direct comment on the issue. Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi who also addressed a similar rally today at Karandighi under Raigunj Lok Sabha constituency in support of party candidate Dipa Dasmunshi, who lost to Mohammad Salim of CPI-M by less than 2,000 votes in 2014 elections, rubbished chief minister''s allegations and claimed it was in fact the Congress which had been leaving no stone unturned to bring forth the Rafael issue before public and demanded an investigation. Reiterating that like Prime minister Modi, the West Bengal chief minister also allegedly cheated the people of the state by not benefiting the farmers and creating more jobs for the educated youth, Rahul Gandhi said after coming to power Congress would provide millions of jobs to the poor and huge benefits to the farmers and small entrepreneurs. ''I do not make any false promise'',Rahul said amid cheers from a strong crowd of several thousand and added that he would in all certainly ''wave the entire firm loan from all farmers in the country'' like what he did in Rajasthan,Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Ask anybody in these states and know whether he was speaking the truth or not, the young Gandhi reiterated. Hindusthan Samachar/Ankur/Pramod \
