Security, beefed up in four Loksabha seats slated for poll in first phase
Patna, Apr.10 (HS): Bihar administration has beefed up the security arrangements and put the district administration on high alert for free and fair poll in the four Loksabha seats slated for polling on Thursday under the first phase of the loksabha elections during which the security personnel would maintain air surveillance through Indian Air Force helicopter. Bihar Director General of Police Gupteshwar Pandey said here on Wednesday that elaborate security arrangements have been made in the extremists infested Gaya , Nawada , Jamui and Aurangabad Loksabha constituencies where two choppers of IAF would do the rounds during the day to keep an eye on the trouble mongers during the poll. Directions have been issued to the police administration to initiate stern action against any suspected activities and the trouble mongers during the day. The polling in the four constituencies would start at 0700 hrs on Wednesday and would end at 18.00 hrs for which all necessary arrangements have been made, he added. Meanwhile, borders of the districts falling in the four Loksabha constituencies have been sealed. Vehicular movement would remain restricted and the vehicles were being frisked thoroughly by the security personnel. Round the clock patrolling is being conducted in the constituencies to prevent any untoward incident. Apart from Special magistrates, CRPF, mounted police, district police and jawans of homeguards will be deployed to maintain the law and order in the areas undergoing polling under the first phase of the election. CCTV cameras have also been installed at the strategic locations to watch the activities in and around the polling booths. The massive manhunt and search operation of anti naxal squad were going on in the sensitive areas of Jamui , Gaya, Nawada and Aurangabad. The security personnel staged flag march in the sensitive pockets of the constituencies to instill confidence among the voters.
