Explosives found as Maoists affected 4 constituencies go to polls tomorrow
Patna, Apr 10 (HS): Security agencies averted a major mishap on Wednesday as they recovered four powerful explosive devices at Dumariya in Gaya district. Gaya parliamentary constituency goes to polls on Thursday. According to Gaya police, each of the explosives weighed five kgs. Dumariya is one of the worst left wing extremist affected pockets in central Bihar. Former chief minister and national chairman of HAM(S), Jeetan Ram Manjhi is the Grand Alliance candidate and Vijay Manjhi of JDU is NDA nominee. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had addressed an election meeting at Gaya on April 2 and Congress president Rahul Gandhi on April 9. There are four constituencies in Bihar going to polls in the first phase tomorrow - Gaya, Nawada, Aurangabad and Jamui and all are considered highly sensitive in view of presence of Maoists in the area. There are 70.38 lakh voters who would cast their votes in 7486 booths. Fate of the chairman of the parliamentary board of LJP and son of Ramvilas Paswan, Chirag Paswan will be decided. Chirag faces Bhudeo Chaudhury, the Grand Alliance candidate. In Nawada, Chandan Kumar, brother of the former MP, Suraj Bhan is the NDA candidate and in Aurangabad, the sitting BJP MP, Sushil Kumar Singh is again in the fray.
