Kanhaiya Kumar files papers at Begusarai
Patna, Apr.(HS): CPI candidate,Kanhiaya Kumar on Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections from Begusrai constitutency. Kanhaiya who submitted four sets of nomination papers to the returning officer, Rahul Kumar, claimed there was no strong opposition in his constitutency. He started the road show from his residence after seeking blessings of his mother who offered curd and sugar to him. He later went to Zero Mile, where he garlanded the statue of National poet, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and later at different places placed garlands on the statutes of Subhash Chandra Bose, veteran CPI leader, late Chandrashekhar Singh, late Socialist leader, Suraj Narain Singh and former chief minister, Sri Krishna Sinha. The former CPI MLA, Shatrughan Prasad Singh and ex-CPI MLA, Awadesh Rai, accompanied him along with the former vice-president of JNU students union, Shehla Rasheed and Gujarat legislator, Jignesh Mewani.Workers of the Left parties from seven assembly segments of Begusrai were present in the road show. Motor Cycles and horses were parts of the road show.Union minister, Giriraj Singh is the NDA candidate and former MLA,Tanveer Hussain has been nominated by the RJD. Begusrai was once strong hold of the Left and large number of workers presence in Barauni fertiliser plant and Indian Oild Corporation are members of the Left dominated workers union.
