Former IB director, Shah appointed as union minister in Pakistan
Islamabad, Apr. 3 (HS): Despite strong opposition from the opposition parties in Pakistan, particularly the PPP, on Tuesday, President Dr. Aarif Alvi made former Union Director of the Bureau of Investigation (IB), Ejaz Ahmed Shah as Union Minister. He has been made Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. It is noteworthy that Shah is believed to be Osama Bin Laden''s helper and the conspirator in killing former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. Pakistan''s Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People''s Party, both main opposition parties, believe that this appointment will make the environment worse in Parliament. According to the newspaper Dawn, the swearing-in ceremony was organized in the President''s house where a limited number of people participated. It is notable that Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced the appointment of Shah on Friday. After this decision, the controversy started rapidly across the country. Indeed, before being assassinated in 2007, former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto alleged that Ejaz Ahmed Shah was plotting her assassination. Shah was the President of IB from 2004 to 2008. It is being said that he misused his position to harass political opponents. Brigadier Shah was considered highly trustworthy man of former President Musharraf. Musharraf was also convicted in the Benazir assassination. Hindustan Samachar/Radha/Pramod \
