Sweltering summer ahead, predicts Meteorological Department
Temperature likely to be 0.5 degree Celsius warmer than normal in north and central India New Delhi, Apr 02 (HS): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that this time sweltering summer may be very scorching as the average temperature between April to June is likely to be 0.5 degree Celsius warmer in north and central India. In its seasonal outlook for the next three months, IMD has said that the seasonal average minimum and mean temperatures over West Rajasthan are likely to be above normal by more than 1 degree Celsius. Meteorological Analysis (Based on 0530 hours IST): A feeble western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region from 4th April. The cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level over southeast Rajasthan and neighbourhood persists. The north-south trough from west Bihar to northeast Vidarbha across East Madhya Pradesh extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level persists. The cyclonic circulation over northern parts of West Bengal and neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level with the trough aloft roughly along Long. 90°E to the north of Lat. 22° N at 3.1 Km above mean sea level persists. The cyclonic circulation over south Assam and neighbourhood over Manipur $@$# neighbourhood extending at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists. The wind discontinuity from Rayalaseema to Comorin area across interior Tamilnadu extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.
