PM Modi pays tribute to Shyamji  Verma
New Delhi, Mar. 30(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid his tribute to freedom fighter, Shyamji Krishna Varma on his death anniversary. Modi tweeted "Regards to the great freedom fighter, Shyamji Krishna Varma on his death anniversary.He dedicated his complete life to the freedom struggle.His invaluable contribution forever inspires all countrymen." Shyamji Krishna Verma was born on 4 october,1857 in Mandvi, Gujarat. He established a three-storey building ''India House'' in 1905 together with 20 people.This'' India House'' became a revolutionary temple for freedom struggle. Students from India going for studies in England meet one another and engage in discussions, at India House and it was a major centre for such activities. Verma was the first Indian who was awarded an M.A degree from the prestigious Oxford University as well as the honor of Bharat Law. He was deeply inspired by personalities like Lokmanya Tilak and Swami Vivekanand. He represented India in science conferences in 1918 held in Berlin and England. Hindusthan Samachar/Rahul/Pramod \
