Correctd...Jumping of ship by Arjun Singh makes no difference for TMC: Trivedi
Kolkata,Mar.14 (HS): Former railway minister, Diinesh Trivedi who has been nominated by Tarinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee for the Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat rejecting the claims of Arjun Singh, wished him ''best of luck'' in his new party.'' I wish him best of luck in his new party and in his future endeavours'', Trivedi said when asked to comment on TMC MLA from Bhatpara in North 24 Parganas Arjun Singh''s decision to join BJP today in New Delhi. He also remarked that a heavy weight leader like Singh''s leaving the party would not make any difference to TMC,rather it was he(Singh) who would have to regret for such a decision in near future'',. But when his attention was drawn to the statement of BJP central observer Kailash Vijaybargio when he said that many more TMC leaders would soon join BJP, the sitting MP from the industrial constituency of Barrackpore said ''our party(TMC) is fully united to take on BJP under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee and the quiting of some disgruntled elements like Arjun Singh would have little or no impact on the party''. Referring to Singh''s regards to Mukul Roy whom he now considered his ''mentor and political Guru'', Trivedi said only about a month ago Singh spat venom on Roy at a public rally and described him as ''gaddar'' for deserting Mamata Banerjee. The same person has joined Roy in bid to get a party nominastion for a parliamentary seat from Bengal, the former uniion minister stated. Meanwhile, according to informed sources, all the 22 TMC councillors and close associates of Singh at Bhatpara Municipality might join BJP soon. Hindusthan Samachar/Ankur/Pramod \
