J&K: Huge haul of drugs, six peddlers arrested
Jammu, Mar 13 (HS): Continuing its crusade against drugs, SOG Jammu achieved a major success by recovering 2,214 bottles of banned drug Codeine Phosphate and about 3.5 kilograms of high quality charas in two separate operations late last night. In first operation, SOG Jammu alongwith Samba Police seized two trucks which were coming from Punjab and arrested four persons and recovered 2,214 bottles of Codein Phosphate at Mansar Morh. The consignment was concealed in specially made cavities in the trucks. A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba. In another raid carried out by SOG Jammu, a Naka was laid near Ban Toll Plaza with the sleuths of PS Nagrota. A Tata mobile vehicle was signaled to stop but it accelerated the speed, which however was made to stop at another Naka and after the thorough search of the vehicle and persons sitting in the said vehicle, a consignment of 3.5 kilograms of high quality charas was recovered. The vehicle was seized and drug smugglers were apprehended who disclosed their identity as Firdaus Ahmed Dar and Kouser Ahmed Dar. The whole exercise was closely monitored by SSP SOG Jammu, SSP Sandeep Mehta and was carried out under the supervision of SSP Jammu,Tejinder Singh and SSP Samba Kaushal Kumar.
