No agreement, yet, between RJD and Cong in Bihar
Patna,12 March(HS): The six parties in the Grand Alliance in Bihar are at war with each others on the seat sharing arrangements for the Lok Sabha elections. Nominations for the first phase will start from Monday but the coaliation arrangement is still elusive.Leaders of all the six parties have reached New Delhi today to have meeting with the Congress president, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday. However, Rahul Gandhi at Congress rally here last month had declared, the party would contest from front foot in the elections in Bihar too indicating the Congress was in no mood to be dominated by the RJD. When Lalu Prasad was chief minister of Bihar, the Congress candidates were declared by Lalu himself and not by Congress president. Now,Rahul Gandhi is not allowing RJD to decide Congress fortunes. The war of words became open on Tuesday here, when the Congress legislature party leader, Sadanand Singh, claimed the Congress was ready to contest all the 40 seats on its own. He claimed after Rahul Gandhi took over as the party president, the graph of popularirty of the Congress has gone up and the party won assembly elections in Rajasthan,Madhya Pradesh,Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. If the RJD delays further, the Congress would field its candidates on all the 40 seats, he warned.Meanwhile, National vice-president of the RJD,Shivanand Tiwary, reacted saying the RJD has strong base among the masses all over the state. It is a dominant party having pan-Bihar following of Lalu Prasad. It can not be dictated by others,he said.Leader of opposition and son of Lalu,Tejeshwi Prasad Yadav ,who is in New Delhi held preliminary discussions with the former chief minister,Jeetan Ram Manjhi of HAM(S),former JDU president,Sharad Yadav,RLSP chief and Upendra Kushwaha. Tejeshwai has decided to offer 11 seats to the Congress against the later''s demand for a minimum 13 seats.RJD wants to give one seat each to Sharad yadav,Jeetan ram Manjhi,Vikashsheel Insaan Party of Mukesh Sahani ,three to RLSP..Manjhi too wants three constitutencies .Meanwhile, Madan Mohan Jha,Bihar Pradesh Congress president, who is also camping in New Delhi, told this correspondent, "Party is willing to sacrifice one or two constitutencies to the alliance partners". In 2014 Lojk Sabha elections,Congress had contested on 14 seats.Congress will have to offer seats to the rebel RJD MP,Pappu Yadav, who wants to contest from Madhepura,Shatrughan Sinha.the rebel BJP MP from Patna Saheb,Kirti Azad, another rebel BJP MP from Darbhanga.Arun Kumar, the rebel RLSP MP from Jehanabad and Anant Singh, the rebel JDU legislator who quit the party is also keen to contest on Congress symbol from Munger. The Grand Alliance had earlier said the seats and the candidates would be announced after the February 3 rally of the Grand Alliance at Gandhi Maidan here. But,even after 40 days of the rally,no agreement could be reached. As the RJD president,Lalu Prasad has been given final authority to name the RJD candidates,it is likely, the names wlould be announced on Saturday -the day when Lalu is allowed to meet three people in a week. He is under judicial custody at Ranchi. Hindusthan Samachar/Law Kumar/Pramod \
