Delhi,Mar.8(HS): Every year on 8th March i.e., International Women''s Day is celebrated . On this day, while expressing respect, appreciation and love for women in different regions of the world, this day is celebrated as a celebration of women''s economic, political and social achievements. In India, women have still to face a variety of challenges and it is difficult for them to be successful and identify themselves in any field. But even after this, many Indian women did not only achieve their own success but also became an inspiration for other women in the country. So, let us know about some of the same Indian women who have strong recognition at the international level. Indira Gandhi was not only stayed on Indian politics but also influenced the world politics. She started serving the country at the age of 12 only. She is referred to as ''Iron-woman''. She was the first woman Prime Minister of India. At the same time, Amrita Pritam Amrita was not just a great writer, but she also established woman''s independence and progressive thinking women. Amrita was the first woman to got the Academy Literature Award. She has written many novels. She was a married woman, but she chose love in her life. It is a matter of fact that her love and Sahir''s love did not found any destination, but she continued to love Sahir. She wrote innumerable songs for Sahir. Now, take instance of Mary Kom. She is a famous Indian woman boxer. Mary had qualified for the 2012 Olympics and achieved the Bronze Medal. For the first time, the Indian boxer woman reached here, apart from that she has won the World Championship five times. Mary started her boxing career at the age of 18. Meira Kumar Meira Kumar is the first woman Lok Sabha Speaker. Kumar was also the presidential candidate from the UPA in the year 2017. In this election they got 3,67,314 votes but was defeated by President Ramnath Kovind. Saina Nehwal who is the Indian badminton player. She is currently one of the world''s best women''s badminton players and is the first Indian woman to reach the peak. She is the first Indian to win medal in Badminton in Olympics Games. Saina won silver at the 2015 BWF World Championship and she became the first woman to do so. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil was India''s 12th and first woman president of India. He was a lawyer before becoming President. Pratibha Patil had been also governor of Rajasthan. Sania Mirza is the first woman tennis player ever to remain India''s most successful sportswoman. Sania started playing tennis at the age of 6. Arundhati Roy was the first women who won the Booker Prize for her first novel ‘ The God of Small Things. In the same manner, Ashapurna Devi was a famous poet and novelist. She has been to middle-class family background. Ashapurana was the first woman to be honored with Gyanpeeth Award. This award was given for ‘The First Commitment ‘in 1976. Ashapurana started writing at the age of only 13. Sarojini Naidu was a great poet and freedom fighter . Sarojini was the first woman to become the President of Indian National Congress and governor of state. Sarojini mostly used to write her poems on children.
