Lucknow,March 8(HS)Prime Minister Narendra Modi who came to the state on a whirlwind tour on Friday morning will lay foundation or inaugurate projects worth over Rs 50,000 crores by the end of the day. His hectic schedule is understandable.General elections are only few weeks away and notification for the same is likely to be made in a couple of days. That will put moratorium on new decisions and announcements which could influence the poll. The PM has already launched a project-- Kashi Vishwanath temple corridor scheme-- which will provide direct access from the ganga river bank to the historic temple and honoured and addressed women as it is an international women''s day. In his address at Varanasi he referred to some of the schemes launched by his government for the benefit of women. They included permanent jobs in some defence fields. His next stop during the whistle stop trip is Kanpur,ending at Ghaziabad near Delhi in the evening. He will shortly inaugurate or launch schemes worth Rs 23,000 crores at Kanpur and address the gathering. Through video-conferencing Modi will green flag metro rail service from Charbagh station in Lucknow to Munshipulia.This stretch was covered in the second phase in a record time, much ahead of the schedule.The first phase,from airport to the station ,was completed earlier. The entire project covering distance of more than 20 KM has been completed in 1580 days. HS/RN HS/RN
