By Shri Ram Shaw The 49 days long Prayagraj Kumbh Mela finally concludes New Delhi/Lucknow, Mar 05 (HS): The 49-day Prayagraj Kumbh Mela, branded as ‘Divya Kumbh, Bhavya Kumbh’ - the largest religious congregation in the world, which began from Makar Sankranti, has finally concluded with the auspicious bath on Maha Shivratri. Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath formally concluded the Mela. The Uttar Pradesh government had made elaborate arrangements to enable the pilgrims as well as other visitors to have a comfortable stay at Kumbh. Sanyas Diksha performed at Kumbh for 1st time First the first time at Prayagraj Kumbh, about 800 saints were given Sanyas Diksha at Dashanami Juna Akhara. All religious ceremonies were completed on the bank of river Ganga. Ceremony was initiated with the shaving of head of saints and taking holy dip in the River. Barbers were called from Haridwar and Varanasi for the purpose. Several rituals were performed at the camp of the Akhara and on the bank of the River including Diksha by Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Akhara Swami Awadeshanand Maharaj. Saints who were given Sanyas Diksha include six from abroad. They were given Sanyas Diksha after close monitoring of their behaviour during three years in the Akhara. UP State Cabinet meeting held for the first time First time in the history of Kumbh, UP State government''s cabinet meeting was held at Prayagraj Kumbh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired the meeting. Before attending the cabinet Yogi worshipped at Hanuman Temple at Sangam and visited Akshya Vat. Most of the UP Cabinet Ministers including both Dy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma attended the meeting. Cabinet decided to construct 600 km long Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj with a cost of Rs 36,000 crores to provide better connectivity from Western districts to Prayagraj.
