Chapra,Mar.4ch(HS): On this auspicious day of Maha Shiv Ratri when Shiv had wedded with Parvati, devotees all over the district thronged temples with great devotion and with a wish of blessing of Lord Shiv for their betterment, mentally, physically, economically, and all pronged development. Girls and women with dresses which presented riot of colours, with milk, Prasad, and water in with bountiful of flowers and Bail Patra were reflecting the mood of festivity with deeply embedded and stitched in it the devotion, belief, spiritualism which reflected the faith beyond logic as many of them said that do not reason with faith and sense of surrender before the ultimate. Temples at Prabhunath Nagar, Dahiyawan Tola, Dharmnath Ji witnessed sea of devotees and the whole atmosphere was fragrant with mesmerising aroma of Dhup and Batti. In Dhodhnath temple and Lahladpur devotees from out the district as far as from Nepal had also came. In Ambika Bhavani temple at Ami under Dighwara block, which is considered to be one of the Shakti Peeth, as the middle part of Parvati had fallen here, the festive mood was restive with children enjoying the Mela also. Rajesh Pandey said that there is need to worship Shakti with Shiv and so the devotees thronged this holy place also. Ami is situated on the bank of river Ganga where Parvati is said to have burned herself after the insult of Shiv by her father. It is also said to be the place of Raja Surath and Samadhi Vaishya who had worshipped here by erecting the Pinddi of Goddess Durga. Another historic and religious place where devotees assembled in great number is Hari Hhar Nath temple at Sonepur. This place is the combination of Hari (Vishnu) and Har (Shiv) and signifies the melting place of Vaishnavaite and Shaivaite follwers. This is the place where Lord Vishnu had come and salvaged his devotee the Gaj (Elephant) from the deadly clutches of Grah (Crocodile). A Banker Kaushik that Shiv is considered to be Aadi Guru and in one’s spiritual pursuit if he does not find any Guru, he can consider Shiv as his Guru who will lead him to enlightment. Hime Makers Nutan Singh and Renu told that today is the auspicious day of solemnising the marriage of Shiv with Parvati. Today itself the ShivLing had emerged which has great spiritual value. Many did quick business of the day also by staging on towels shops of Bail Patra, flowers, milk, Chandan. One of the vendors who otherwise does something else was today seen selling those things. They said that dealing in these items was without any investment and the earning in hours was quite satisfactory. You have only to pluck flowers and Bail Patra and arrange them before a temple. Nutan Singh also said that this day is mainly celebrated for the marriage of Shiv and Parvati. At the same time Maha Mrityunjay Mantra has special significance on this day. It is said that on this day Lord Shiva , who otherwise also is considered ‘Aughardaani’ fulfils the wishes of devotees asked with a pious and honest heart. Sanjay Kumar Abhay belives that Shiv is the destroyer of evils.
