Patna,3 March(HS): Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Sunday announced a Rs 1200 crores package for modernization of JP international airport at Patna. Addressing the Sanklap rally of NDA here, PM said Patna airport would be linked with UDAAN scheme to facilitate air travel to smaller towns in Bihar, soon. PM further said that Patna would ill be linked with waterways through the Ganga river.There would be movement of cargo ships on the Ganga to the sea route too.Modi said there had been development in infrastructure facilities in the state since BJP-JDU government assumed power in the state.The rail-cum road river bridges on the Ganga which were sanctioned during the regime of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was yet to be operational .On the occasion, Modi complimented the founder of Sulabh International-Bindeshwar Pathak of Vaishali district for getting Gandhi Peace award last week.He said Bihar is rich in talents and people of the state had excelled in bureaucracy and politics too.PM praised, the duo of chief minister Nitish Kumar and deputy chief minister-Sushil Kumar Modi, saying that both were taking the state towards rapid development.
