14 Pakistani prisoners shifted to a tight security cell in Bengal
Kolkata, Feb 27 (HS): In view of the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, the West Bengal Government has sent 14 prisoners locked in two corridors of the State to a tight security cell. This step has been taken in the safety of the prisoners amidst present crisis. Out of 14 prisoners, four are held in Presidency Jail and 10 in Dum Dum Central Jail. Ujjwal Biswas the Prison Minister of West Bengal said that in view of the incident took place in Rajasthan jail, such instructions have been issued to keep Pakistan''s detainees separate from other prisoners for their safety. These prisoners have been sent to a tight security cell. Departmental officials said that though most of these prisoners have good relations with their colleagues yet the department does not want to take any risk after the incident of Pulwama attack. It was further added that three-level security arrangements have been made for these 14 prisoners and the jail administration has been directed to be more vigilant so that no unpleasant incident occur.
