Union Home Minister Amit Shah pays tribute to Govind Ballabh Pant on his birth anniversary.

New Delhi, Sept 10 (HS) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Govind Ballabh Pant on his birth anniversary. Shah said that Govind Ballabh Pant worked as an ideal politician and worked for the welfare of the society.

Shah tweeted, “Bharat Ratna Govind Ballabh Pant Ji was a keen thinker and visionary politician who fought with the British Empire as a freedom fighter and worked towards the welfare of society. His contribution towards Hindi language is praiseworthy. I wish him on his birth anniversary."

Govind Ballabh Pant was the Chief Minister of undivided Uttar Pradesh. He was born on 10 September 1887 in Almora. He was a freedom fighter and one of the founding leaders of modern India. Along with Mahatma Gandhi and Vallabhbhai Patel, Pant played an important role in the freedom movement of India and later in the Government of India.
